The weight of an object is the gravitational force suffered by that object due to the gravitational attraction exerted on it by another body with mass.

In common sense, weight is associated with the force that an object with mass exerts on another body by gravitational attraction, however in scientific terms the definition is symmetrical: the body that exerts the force is also subject to a force associated with the other object, in fact this weight is exactly equal in modulus to the weight of the object itself due to Newton's third law.
